Soft Neutral Eye Look

Hey doll hey! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. I’m trying to push through this darn fibro flare… I’m at a level 9 pain today, I haven’t had a pain level that high in such a long time.

Mentally I wasn’t doing well… it’s been a while since I’ve been able to do anything… literally 12 days since I’ve played in makeup, read a book, played Nintendo Switch, knit or even painted anything.

So I pushed through the pain and sat down at my vanity and just started slow. Before I knew it I had a full face of makeup done.

I decided to use some of my new makeup items and for today’s look I used 9 shades total from 2 palettes:

Natasha Denona I Need A Nude Palette ($69 for 0.589 oz / 16.7 g of total product making it 0.039 oz / 1.11 g and $4.60 per shade and sold at Sephora & Ulta and on the ND website).

Natasha Denona Bronzer Palette ($69 for 0.67 oz / 19.25 g of total product making it 0.044 oz / 1.28 g and $4.60 per shade and sold at Ulta and on the ND website).

I still hurt but not as bad as when I first started, I guess between the steamy shower and the moving my back muscles around I was able to feel a bit better.

So let’s go through today’s walkthrough and pictorial….

Eyes and Brows:

For my brows today I used the One/Size by Patrick Starrr BrowKiki Micro Brow Defining Pencil ($19 for 0.002 oz/ 0.07g of product at Sephora) in the shade Black Brown (neutral undertones, for very dark brunette or black brown hair). I carved out the underside of my brows using Juvia’s Place I Prep, I Prime ($12 for 0.41 oz / 12 ml of product at Ulta) in the shade #1 (milky white sands). I waited until I did my complexion products to clean up the top part of my brows… I’m trying something different… so far it worked out so I will continue to do my brows this way… saves on having to buy concealer in my exact shade.

WIth a fluffy crease brush and the shade Beach – 319CM (warm nude – matte) from the Bronze palette I defined my transition.

With a crease brush and the shade Vague 496CM (medium warm dusty rose – matte) from the Nude palette I defined the crease and the outer 1/2 of the mobile lids.

On a fat short crease brush I combined the shades Silhouette 499CM (coffee bean brown -matte)and Tender 505CM (medium taupe – matte) from the Nude palette to define the outer v of the crease.

I combined the shades Fair 501CM (light misty rose – matte) and Mesh 506CM (light dusty rose-matte) from the Nude palette on a flat shadder brush and patted the combo over the inner 2/3 of the mobile lids.

Using the same brush I tapped the shade Muse 500SF (champagne – foiled metallic)from the Nude palette over the same area as above.

Using a tiny crease brush I combined the shades High Degree – 311M (red copper – metallic)and Bliss – 317DC (red pink with golden-green pon points – duo chrome )from the Bronze palette and buffed that over the middle 1/3 of the mobile lids.

Using a small crease brush and the shade Vague 496CM (medium warm dusty rose – matte)from the Nude palette I created a mid sized drop shadow on the lower lash line.

With a pencil brush and the shade Silhouette 499CM (coffee bean brown -matte)from the nude palette I defined the outer 1/2 of the lower lash line.

With a bullet brush and the shade Beach – 319CM (warm nude – matte)from the Bronze palette I buffed the whole under eye together.

I then lined my lower water lines using L.A. Girl Shockwave Eyeliner ($4.49 for 0.04 oz / 1.2 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Brown Sugar (mid toned chocolate brown with a copper reflect – metallic).

Complexion:

I primed using Morphe Luminous Complexion Primer ($26 for 1 fl oz / 30 ml of product at Ulta). For my glow enhancer I used Revlon SkinLights Face Glow Illuminator ($14.49 for 1 fl oz / 30 ml of product at Ulta) in the shade Sunset. For my cream complexion products I used: Uoma Beauty Double Take Freed Contour Stick ($25 for 0.344 oz / 9.6 g of product at Ulta) in the shade brown sugar (deep neutral), NYX Can’t Stop Won’t Stop Foundation ($15 for 1 fl oz / 30 ml of product at Ulta) in the shade Porcelain (fair light neutral), Anastasia Beverly Hills Cream Bronzer ($35 for 1 fl oz / 30 ml of product at Sephora) in the shade hazelnut (deep warm), Benefit Watt’s Up Champagne Cream Highlighter ($30 for 0.33 oz/ 10 ml of product at Sephora and Ulta), Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Cheeks Out Freestyle Cream Blush ($24 for 0.1 oz / 3 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Crush on Cupid (soft cool pink)and Makeup Revolution IRL Filter Finish Concealer ($7 for 0.21 oz / 6 g of product at Ulta) in the shade C3. For my powdered complexion products I used: Anastasia Beverly Hills Loose Setting Powder ($38 for 0.9 oz / 25 g of product at Sephora and Ulta) in the shade Translucent, One/Size by Patrick Starrr Ultimate Blurring Setting Powder ($34 for 1.2 oz / 34.5 g of product at Sephora) in the shade Ultra Pink (brightening for fair to medium), Hourglass Ambient Lighting Bronzer ($58 for 0.39 oz / 11 g of product at Sephora) in the shade Luminous Bronzer Light (medium bronze), Essence Pure Nude Highlighter ($4.99 for 0.24 oz / 7 g of product at Ulta) and L’oreal Infallible 24H Fresh Wear Soft Matte Blush ($15.99 for 0.31 oz / 9 g of product at Ulta) in the shade Confident Pink .

Lips, Lashes and Finishings:

I lined my lips using Huda Beauty Lip Pencil (this shade is no longer available) in Heartbreaker… A good replacement for this lip liner is Huda Beauty Lip Contour 2.0 Lip Pencil ($21 for 0.01 oz/ 0.5 g of product at Sephora) in the shade Universal Red or NYX Suede Matte Lip Liner ($5 for 0.01 oz / 0.5 g of product at Ulta)) in the shade Spicy (true red). I then topped my lips with Loreal Infallible Matte Resistance Liquid Lipstick ($13.99 for 0.17 fl oz / 5.02 ml of product at Ulta) in the shade Le Rouge Paris (medium blue red).I coated my lashes in MAC Extended Play Gigablack Lash Mascara ($27 for 0.19 oz / 5.38 g of product at Ulta) and then popped on a pair of Ardell 3D Faux Mink Multipack Lashes #853 ($17.99 for a 4 pack). I set my face using Cover FX High Performance Setting Spray (no longer sold by Cover FX but can be found on Amazon).

Final Thoughts:

Ever since dyeing my hair back to brown I have been loving neutral eye looks. They just didn’t sit well with my purple hair… not I still miss my purple hair but with my natural hair color everything appears to be more smokey and sultry than with my fun color hair styles.

Juvia’s Place Magic Lip Oils ($10 for 0.20 fl oz / 6 ml of product at Ulta) is billed as the ultimate solution for achieving nourished & glossy lips with its light weight & non-sticky finish. It comes in 5 scents, I purchased the scent Watermelon.

I give this lip oil a solid O!!! I hate the way lip oils feel… always too greasy. This one is not at all. It feels like a lip gloss combined with a lip mask… However, as much as I love this product I can’t give it my highest grade… what I have noticed is that for a bit of time after the lip oil wears off my lips seem to feel a little parched. Now I’m not sure if that’s what lip oils do, as I’ve said I hate them and don’t use them and the dryness doesn’t last too long, I’d say maybe 10 minutes and if I apply it as soon as it wears off I don’t feel that at all. It’s a nice product and I’m happy to use it up but I don’t know if I will repurchase it.. I’ll have to see if it grows on me some more.

Loreal Infallible 24H Fresh Wear Soft Matte Blush ($15.99 for 0.31 oz / 9 g of product at Ulta) is billed as a lightweight powder that gives a bold pop of color that feels weightless for up to 24H. It comes in 4 shades, I purchased the shade #10 Confident Pink (bright true pink).Loreal Infallible 24H Fresh Wear Soft Matte Blush ($15.99 for 0.31 oz / 9 g of product at Ulta) is billed as a lightweight powder that gives a bold pop of color that feels weightless for up to 24H. It comes in 4 shades, I purchased the shade #10 Confident Pink (bright true pink).

I give this blush a solid O+++!!! As with the coral shade this is one super pigmented blush… 1 tap is enough for both cheeks…. it’s smooth and applies evenly. Dare I say I love this shade more than the coral one? Could this be the product to derail my love of all things coral?

E.L.F. Complexion Duo Brush ($8 at Ulta) is billed as a 2-in-1 brush designed for the applying foundation and concealer.

I give this duo ended brush a solid O+++!!! I really didn’t think I would like this brush for a full coverage foundation…. boy was I wrong. This brush is so amazing at giving that airbrushed look to the face and with it being soft and not dense it actually didn’t move the products that I had on under it. I am going to purchase a few more. I think I need 1 for foundation/concealer, 1 for contour/bronzer and another for highlighter/nose contour clean up.

Natasha Denona I Need A Nude Palette ($69 for 0.589 oz / 16.7 g of total product making it 0.039 oz / 1.11 g and $4.60 per shade and sold at Sephora & Ulta and on the ND website) is billed as a must-have, cool-toned palette with 15 new nude shades in Natasha’s iconic matte, metallic, sparkling foiled, and brand-new wet effect formula.

This palette has: 3 foiled metallic, 2 metallic, 3 wet effect metallic & 7 matte shades.

I give this palette a tentative O+++!!! I only used 6 of the 15 shades but the shades I did use were such a joy to work with. The mattes had some kick back in the pans but zero fall out on the face and the metallic shade was creamy, didn’t need glitter glue and had only the slightest of fall out on the face. I give it a tentative grade because I’d like to try out more shades before giving a full review.

L.A. Girl Shockwave Eyeliner ($4.49 for 0.04 oz / 1.2 g of product at Ulta) is billed as bold colors and a full-coverage with 16 hour wear. It comes in 14 shades…in the shade Brown Sugar (mid toned chocolate brown with a copper reflect – metallic).

I give this eyeliner a solid O+++!!! I typically love a deep brown liner, one that is matte. This liner is so stunning on the waterline. It really brings out the amber and caramel highlights in my eyes. Such a beautiful shade. The formula is creamy and stays put all day.

Natasha Denona Bronzer Palette ($69 for 0.67 oz / 19.25 g of total product making it 0.044 oz / 1.28 g and $4.60 per shade and sold at Ulta and on the ND website) is billed as warm coppers, foiled bronzes, burnt umbers, & rich neutral champagnes for effortless daytime drama or serious evening glam.

This palette has: 1 foiled metallic, 1 foiled chroma crystal, 1 cream powder mate, 5 matte 4 duo-chrome & 3 metallic shades.

I give this palette a tentative O+++!!! I only used 3 of the 15 shades in this palette so I want some more time to formulate my thoughts on it first. The matte shade had major kick back in the pan but no fall out on the face. The metallic shades had so much kick back but again no fall out on the face. The matte was creamy and the metallics were flakey but smooth.

Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Cheeks Out Freestyle Cream Blush ($24 for 0.1 oz / 3 g at Ulta) is billed as a  light-as-air, non-greasy cream blush that instantly melts into skin for a wash of color and natural-looking flush and comes in 12 shades. I purchased the new shade Crush on Cupid (soft cool pink).

I give this blush a solid O+++!!! I knew I’d love the formula I’ve been using it for a few years but this color is massively stunning. The photo of the swatch does not do this shade justice. It’s vibrant and a great break from coral.

Loreal Infallible Matte Resistance Liquid Lipstick ($13.99 for 0.17 fl oz / 5.02 ml of product at Ulta) is billed as a powdery matte with bold color payoff in one swipe that’s transfer & smudge-resistant that lasts up to 16 hours. It comes in 12 shades, I purchased the shade Le Rouge Paris (medium blue red).

I give this lipstick a solid O+ I originally thought this formula dried down a bit tacky and that I thought 1 coat would be all that it could handle. Well, I did apply only 1 coat and it was stunning… light weight, did not feel tight or drying. I went about my day… eating drinking and (let’s not judge) smoking and There was barely any lipstick lost…

The only area where I lost color was the very inner part of the lip… That was to be expected… that area of the lip stays wet and with drinking and eating (and smoking) it was bound to wear off. So I tested it to see if I would get crumbles or cracks if I reapplied and to my surprise I did not. It went over the dried first coat smoothly… it did feel a bit tacky for a few moments but after that it settled back to a comfortable matte finish. Now, with the second coat it did feel like I was wearing lipstick… but I mean it was a second coat… with just the first coat I felt nothing on my lips. It’s worth noting that my lips did not need to be touched up for 3 1/2 hours… that’s pretty good in my opinion.

Well… that’s it for today dolls.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your day/night and that you are in great spirits and health.
